1. Clean white surfaces: Borax and baking soda can be mixed with neutral soap to be used as a detergent. 

2. Get rid of accumulated tartar:  a cup of vinegar

3. Clean the fan without having to disassemble it: Pour 2 tablespoons of baking soda, a tablespoon of liquid soap, and a cup of vinegar into a spray bottle. 

4. Remove scale from showerheads: mix a cup of vinegar with half a cup of water

5. Get rid of unpleasant odors from garbage cans: soak a cotton ball in fabric softener
