When your kettle is cool, clean the exterior with hot, soapy water (do not fully immerse it in the sink) and then wipe it down with a microfibre cloth.
If you want to give it extra sparkle, bottle up a solution of half water, half white vinegar and apply a spritz to a clean, fine microfibre or soft cloth. Buff to shine. Treat the kettle’s base in the same way but keep it clean and dry to prevent damage or limescale.
For any stubborn watermarks, soak a cloth with your white vinegar solution and generously douse the affected areas. Leave the solution to work for a couple of minutes before wiping away. If your kettle is either enamel or stainless steel, mix bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar to form a paste. Apply the paste to a cloth, then gently scrub away grease and grime.
